it also teaches children life skills…
Pretend play helps to build empathy. Empathy is the ability to understand another person’s emotions. It’s rare in growing kids as they are still developing their emotional intelligence. By acting act different roles/scenes, a child learns to experience how another person thinks or feels, which promote compassion and tolerance.
Acting encourages teamwork. When children take part in a play, they have to learn to work together, as every role is important for the play to be a success.
Builds up confidence. Performing in front of an audience/peers help children to believe in their ideas and abilities. They also learn to focus their mind, body and voice all at once.
